Finally, in the 70's, vitamin B15 was put into vitamin supplement production. It is illegal in the modern day to distribute vitamin B15. Vitamin B15 is part of the B vitamins group essential to cell metabolism. A water soluble vitamin, Vitamin B15, also known as pangamic acid, is not found to be a part of the 8 main essential vitamins that make up the vitamin B complex. This vitamin assists in the forming of amino acids, the oxidation of cell production and glucose and is a powerful antioxidant essential to optimum health. This vitamin may also stimulate the endocrine system for maximum liver functioning in the body. Vitamin B15 has a variety of health and beauty benefits and is found in many foods that we consume.
Vitamin B15
DMG was used alot in the 50's (I think) in the USSR in the treatment of autism. It was originally marketed as B15, but since the FDA stopped its sale as a vitamin, it is being sold as a food supplement. It is also suppose to help improve the immune system. For the price, it doesn't hurt to try it. Vitamin B15 (Pangamic Acid) The United States infers that Vitamin B15 is pangamic acid; while Russia infers that Vitamin B15 is calcium pangamate. But not the same calcium pangamate listed above! In Russia it is believed to be a combination of the calcium salt of pangamic acid (calcium pangamate), calcium gluconate and N,N-dimethylglycine (DMG), which they call Calgam.
Pangamic Acid (Vitamin B15) is an antioxidant and prevents the formation of destructive superoxide radicals. It is also an antipollutant which eliminates environmental toxins from the body. Being a lipotropic substance, it lowers cholesterol levels and prevents fat accumulation in the liver. Vitamin B15 is part of the B vitamins group essential to cell metabolism. A common amount of DMG is 50–100 mg. Taken twice daily, usually with breakfast and dinner. This level of intake may improve general energy levels, support the immune system, and is also thought to reduce cravings for alcohol and thus may be very helpful in moderating chronic alcohol problems.
Health Benefits
Coined as the 'anti-stress vitamin' as it stimulates the anti-stress hormone in the body, vitamin B15 has a variety of health benefits to prevent and treat various illnesses and conditions in humans. It has been said to provide many benefits to the skin and some studies show it to be beneficial to skin conditions and disorders. It is known as the anti-stress vitamin for its ability to affect and stimulate the stress hormone and may even help increase energy levels and promote weight loss due to its metabolism benefits. Daily Dose Recommendations
In the USA, vitamin B15 is not approved for use by the FDA, although other various forms of this vitamin are taken in supplement form such as dimethyl glycine (DMG). It is illegal to use in Canada as their studies have shown it to be an unsafe substance. In Russia, pangamic acid is widely used and praised to treat alcoholism and its related issues, treats asthma, allergies and fatigue and has been utilized in the treatment of autistic children. HistoryVitamin B15 And Cancer
Pangamic acid was isolated from apricots seeds in 1938 by Ernst Krebs and trade named B15 in 1943. It was described as having many detoxifying medical functions, including benefits to the skin, respiratory tract, nerves and joints. Vitamin B15 was used as a supplement in the U.S. until the 1970s, when it was banned from distribution. While many therapeutic uses of vitamin B15 are unproven, other countries continue to use vitamin B15, including Russia and some European countries, in the calcium pangamate form, appearing as dimethyl glycine, or DMG. In Russia, pangamic acid is used to increase athletic performance, reduce alcohol cravings and help reduce heart disease, senility and autism. In Europe, pangamic acid is used as an anti-aging agent and to protect against air pollution.
Federal Approval
Commercially available pangamic acid products are not standardized and may contain indiscriminate amounts of gluconic acid, glycine, diisopropylamonium dichloroacetate and other materials. Because the chemical composition varies from product to product and insufficient evidence exists to show that vitamin B15 is effective for medicinal use, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not approved B15 and repeatedly seizes pangamic tablets. Vitamin B15 is also prohibited for distribution in Canada. https://pgwikzx.weebly.com/blog/dmg-machine-tools.
Function
Pangamic acid might serve as a methyl donor to help form certain amino acids. Vitamin B15 may play a role in glucose oxidation and cell respiration, says Elson M. Haas, M.D. and founder and director of the Preventative Medical Center of Marin. The claim is it may help hypoxia by increasing oxygen to the heart and other muscles. With vitamins C and E, vitamin B15 may act as an antioxidant, helping to protect cells from oxidation. Pangamic acid is also thought to stimulate the nervous system and promote liver function, which may contribute to detoxification.
